CEO take note, lucky ur not in the EU

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Technically torrents are already illegal. In this ruling it would kind of put photographs in the same section as torrents under the law. I can’t see too many people actually being prosecuted for this unless it was on a mass scale like the actual torrent site owners.

this has nothing to do with making money, its stealing someone else's work without receiving permission to use said photo and nothing to do with the subject of said photo
“The posting on a website of a photograph that was freely accessible on another website with the consent of the author requires a new authorisation by that author,” the EU’s top court said in a statement.
NO MENTION of money
“The Court goes on to hold that, subject to the exceptions and limitations laid down exhaustively in that directive, any use of a work by a third party without such prior consent must be regarded as infringing the copyright of that work,” the court said.
More than once, people have requested to use a photo or 2 of mine and depending on what they are using it for, all i ask for is being credited as the photographer,,,
so did you get permission for your avatar ?

charlie
the law deals with photos,my avatar is NOT a photo... :stir:

There are sites out there that allow me to see where any or all of my photos are online, so Technically if the user and i were both in the eu i could take them to court.
AND yes
its same as a book or music album.

It's a .jpg or .png or whatever...a digital image, so it is included

A new low for CEO, LOL, allowing richard to make trillions, and profiting off it, while Charles M. Schulz gets nada!

And just to add insult to injury, pretty sure it's in Thai baht, LOL

There are few things worse in this world than a bad photographer.
