If you end up going to Kampot, it's a must that you go up Bokor Mountain and have a look around. You can see Vietnam on a clear day.
I found a few photoes . Taken 6-7 years ago.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Wow, that's how I like to remember the place! That's how it was on my first visit, and we were able to roam around freely! Felt haunted, for real.

Kampot, is a small historical town in south-east Cambodia. It offers a wide range of beautiful places to see. Most of its economy based on Salt and Pepper production, fishing, fruit growing and light industry with domestic and foreign tourism. Bokor National Park is one of the most famous tourist attractions of this region.

Hi Ackley,
Do you have anything to contribute apart from copy and pasting from wikipedia or whatever? It would be good to share your personal experiences, or your questions, concerning Cambodia. If you have been to Kep, Kampot, Bokor, then tell us about it.
Otherwise, I think we can all check out wiki/voyage/travel/pedia for ourselves. Thanks.
Great photos of Bokor, Duncan. I have some before/after photos (2008 - 2013) somewhere. It's a magic place, even now.
Also," interesting" to see what is planned up there - it' looks completely space - blocks of residential subdivisions etc. Seems like more money-washing ?

Re: Kep kampot
Maybe I'm crazy but that's all just wasted resource. Bokor casino there COULD be a great guesthouse with bar, club and restaurants. Even that church COULD be used. I'm betting it would look 100% better attacked with a pressure washer. And those mansions at Kep??? WTF! they're great. Queen Mums Mums place could be a guesthouse/museum/brit magnet. If a family can squat at one who do they know that no one else does? Maybe only a matter of time I spose, but this might be a good time to inquire.

Re: Kep kampot
as i understand it all the old villas are still owned by the rich in PP and NOT for sale ( i have inquired thru my gf an her family)
i love driving around there on the roads.
That whole area could one day be back to the way it was in the 60's
