Crack Down on Wildlife Trading in Mondulkiri Market

Mondulkiri, Cambodia News: A successful intervention of forestry administration in cooperation with the Royal Gendarmerie, the WILDLIFE ALLIANCE organization, and the Sen Monorum forestry administration, led to the detention of 2 suspects of wildlife trafficking, and more than 60 kilograms of wild meat was confiscated on 8 August 2018 at Sen Monorom Market, Mondulkiri.

The police went to check two places which were selling wildlife at the market. They confiscated 67.7 kg of wildmeat and punished two traders identified as Som Kimsan, 29 years old and Sam Vuthy with fines of 7,544,000 riels each. The wildmeat was taken away and burnt.
