English Tour Guide Who was Beaten Up, Pretends He was Robbed

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Warning: This is one of those confusing OIC (Only in Cambodia) social media news stories.

Siem Reap, Cambodia News: On August 08,2018, when a 48-year-old English tour guide, Heak Senghout, got beaten up in a case of mistaken identity, he decided to post a story about being robbed on social media to get his revenge.

The police got involved after the victim posted a video on social media complaining that he was robbed, but after questioning the victim, another story emerged.
The victim said he drove his car to drink a coffee at the shop near the night market before going to his clients. On the way, it was a raining heavily when the victim saw two men who had had a motorbike accident, so he stopped his car and went to see if the men were alright. Suddenly, two other men seized him, and the two men who were in the motorbike accident attacked him as well and beat him up before running away. The victim was injured in the attack and he asked the local people for help.
After that, the victim was very angry so he posted a video on social media, where he made up a story about getting robbed of a motorbike.

According to police, the attackers must have thought that the victim had caused the motorbike accident, so they beat him up without asking questions. Whatever the reason, the victim was beaten up, and police are searching for his attackers.

I'm a travel agent and we worked with the guide who was beaten up on one occasion. I believe he has a screw loose so the report from the police is no surprise...

Not trying to be pedantic but shouldn’t that read “English-speaking”?
