This is not an observation that there are old western men with young asian girls.

The key issue I have raised, is:

Mostly its bar girls or ex bg that marry an older expat

I agree, and the young Cambodian men are also likely to have an extended family, property, connections and a whole lot of very solid things that an elderly foreigner can't provide. The title of this thread is a bit sensationalist. If you see old western men with young Asian girls it is quite likely that they are their kids, grandchildren, nieces etc. If you see an old guy with a young woman around the center of town you can often guess, depending on their dress that they are sex-tourists rather than residents. If they are holding hands that's a dead give-away.
