No more busses?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. The company running the buses wanted to be able to import buses and cars, to be used by its taxi service, tax free. The govt said it would offer tax exemption for the buses but not the cars and the company balked. I believe it is great wall taxis but I'm not sure.

Several companies made bids to for the bus contract before city hall awarded it to great wall in a backroom deal so I'd expect shit to get sorted within a few months.

Spotted the Great Wall taxi rank in town the other day, didn't know it existed. I guess the name tells the unsurprising story?

I predicted a FAIL as well.

The buses are still running; city hall is in charge of operations.

I wouldn't classify this as a fail. I was actually uplifted to hear that city hall was backing away from a corrupt deal. I want a respectable company to win the contract on merit, not some shyster dealing a back hander.

ali baba - I was looking at that Banksy mural in your avatar walking down a Bristol street while visiting friends in the UK a couple of weeks ago.

Someone took to it with a paintball gun apparently.
