Broken-Hearted Korean Expat Ju Doosoo Hangs Himself

Phnom Penh: On 30 July, 2018, the decaying body of 49-year-old Korean man, JU DOO SOO, was found hanging in his 3rd-floor apartment, on Street 607a, Phnom Penh.

The victim's staff said the man's wife had died recently, on June 12 in China, and that since his return from China, the bereaved man was getting drunk every day. He told his staff that if he dies, to please take his body for burial close to his wife in China.

The victim's body was found by his staff who had come to take the car. When they could not find their boss, they went to look through the window, where they saw the body of the victim hanging. They reported this to the police who arrived immediately to examine the body.

After the examination, the police determined that the Korean man died from suicide by hanging.

Phnom Penh: The 48 year old victim, who was found by workers on 30 July, on the 2nd floor of a rented house at 607A, Street 68, Chamkar Ovchak Village, Sangkat Casablanc 1, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, is believed to have killed himself on 27 July. His workers confirm that the victim was deeply upset by his wife's recent death.
The South Korean consular authorities have been notified.
