Water Purifier

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I have a 3 stage (non UV, but I boil my water anyway), which unless you live in PP you definitely need for any other water, especially out in the provinces. Cartidges are $20 for the 3 sediment filters which I've had to replace once in 3 years, but that's on PP water (pee pee water...hehe).

Mine hardly uses any electricity, in fact it works fine with the water pressure from the mains (sometimes I leave it unplugged). Just takes about an hour or two to fill up the 10L bladder tank which then can be emptied into an empty blue 20 liter bottle. The valves and hoses are cheap though and crack easily, so be careful.

MIne's just like this, doesn't need electricity for anything, water in one end, the other end to a dedicated tap. Not sure why electricity or tanks are needed?

Different processes. Some systems use UV light, others use osmosis membranes which require additional pressure. For areas of low water pressure, the catchment tank is helpful as the flow through the filter is less than a trickle, especially once the filters have been used for a while.

Apologies, my mistake. Mine is apparently a 5 stage after looking it up. 3 sediment filters, an alkalyzer? and the RO cartridge (which is still original and 3 years old).

Only difference with the pic is mine has the electric water pump as well.
