Cambodian Bus Full of Foreign Tourists Overturns; 7 Injured
Banteay Meanchey: On July 24, 2018, at 10 am, a tourist bus overturned on National road 6, Preah Nepreas district, Banteay Meanchey, injuring 7 of the 13 foreign passengers.
The accident happened when the bus, plate no. 3D-3724, was being driven at high speed by the 38 year old driver, Pich Da. The bus attempted to pass another bus, but unfortunately there was a brake failure and the bus flipped over.
The police report that the bus was damaged a little bit, 7 of out of the 13 passengers were injured, and all the passengers were extremely shaken up by the accident. The passengers were tourists: 3 Australian, 5 American, 3 Canadian, and 2 British.
The victims were initially taken to Krolanh hospital for treatment, then transferred to Siem Reap hospital.

This can happen when all the fat barangs sit on the same side of the bus.
To prevent overturning, the weight should be distributed evenly on both sides of the bus.

If overtaking at high speed, why would he need brakes? Cambodian bus drivers rarely flinch when playing chicken.The accident happened when the bus, plate no. 3D-3724, was being driven at high speed by the 38 year old driver, Pich Da.
