"wtf!!!
A thai tuk tuk driver raped a girl and ur blaming it on her for being in the wrong place."
I did not hold her responsible for the rape, I stated only that better judgement could have prevented it. No one is bullet proof that's WTF.
And that I believe is the point Sinn Sisamouth was making.

That's absolutely right. The use of the term "victim blaming" is a truly mindless response to the suggestion that the incident might have been avoided or mitigated by different behaviour. It is the exclusive province of feminists and cucks when referring to women and why they should be absolved of any requirement to apply good judgement, reason and accountability as they make their way through the world.taabarang wrote:I can't help but wonder that if the victim had been a man who was mugged, or raped would those feminist hackles still have been raised. I think most posters would have agreed with. Sinn
Sisamouth's observation. Common sense can help prevent victimization.
If the incident in question had been the beating and robbing of a drunk, white male who was walking around a shitty area wearing gold chains, a wallet in his breast pocket, carrying an iPhone and SLR in open view the general response would be, "Jeez, that was dumb." The comment from the sneering sisterhood to that comment wouldn't be, "The victim blaming starts." It would be, "Too right. Only a fucking man would be so dumb as to do that."

Police: More checks needed on Australian's rape claim
10 Dec 2016
Police say they are awaiting the results of medical tests before they can verify an Australian woman’s rape complaint against a tuk-tuk driver and another man.
In a complaint filed with the Taling Chan police station, the woman said that a tuk-tuk driver and another man sexually assaulted her in scrubland near the deserted Wattachak building on Boromratchonnanee Soi 43 in Taling Chan district around 4am on Dec 5.
Metropolitan Police Bureau chief Sanit Mahathavorn said on Saturday that police had examined footage from closed-circuit television cameras in the area during the time the assault was said to have occurred. The footage showed a total of 20 tuk-tuks travelling from Phra Nakhon district of Bangkok across the Pin Klao Bridge to Thon Buri during that time. Of the total, five passed the scene of the alleged rape.
Investigators would look into whether any drivers of the five vehicles were involved. The backgrounds of all tuk-tuk drivers would be checked, Daily News Online reported.
Pol Lt Gen Sanit said CCTV showed the Australian woman walking with a foreign man on Khao San Road in Phra Nakhon district one hour after the night spots in the popular tourist area closed on Dec 5. About one hour later, the pair were seen at the Khok Wua intersection, just 400 metres or 10 minutes away by foot.
The city police chief said investigators wanted to establish where the woman and the foreign man had gone during the one-hour interval.
The results of the medical checkups would take about two weeks, he said. If a false complaint was made, legal action would be taken against the woman, he added.
Pol Col Thanawat Taraka, chief of the Taling Chan station, said on Friday that police had found contradictions and inconsistencies in the woman's story. There were no bruises on her body when she filed the complaint with police on Dec 5, Thai media reported.

With posts like this from BOM on the forum, it's not surprising that women posters feel defensive.Re: Somaly Mom, [ take two ]

A woman in New York is sexually abused every 90 minutes.
It used to upset her dreadfully but now she quite enjoys it.
[Tell this to a militant feminist of your acquaintance and wait for the reaction.]
OT, of course some people behave irresponsibly, but that doesn't mean that it was ok to attack them. Also IMO there is a difference between flaunting wealth in front of poor people, and just being a woman.
In this case, the circumstances of the alleged rape are unclear. What is clear is that many tourists, men and women, western and asian, seem to think that there is no need to apply normal sensible precautions when they are on holiday in Thailand or SEA.

Police Confirm Australian Tourist Raped, Issue Arrest Warrant
BANGKOK — Police said Wednesday an arrest warrant had been issued for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 23-year-old Australian woman earlier this month.
After authorities and extensive media coverage cast doubt on the woman’s claims, police said the woman was sexually assaulted by Eakaburut Ritrakkhaphan, a 32-year-old motorcycle taxi driver. He was allegedly seen in security camera footage picking up the Australian woman from the Khok Wua junction near Khaosan Road before taking her to the abandoned building she earlier claimed he and a friend attacked her.
On Dec. 5, the 23-year-old Australian tourist told police she had been lured by the driver of a tuk-tuk she had allegedly grabbed to return to the guesthouse where she was staying after drinking at Khaosan Road.
She said the driver, along with a friend waiting at the deserted building in Soi Borommaratchachonnani 43, west of Bangkok, sexually assaulted her. Police cast doubt on her story after social media discussions pressured them into action. They said she was heavily intoxicated and pointed out that she was seen in another security camera kissing another foreign male.
Police also questioned the time frame during which the incident took place, as the woman appeared on the CCTV footage near Khaosan Road 37 minutes before she arrived at the police station.
Bangkok Police Chief Sanit Mahatavorn said they now believed she was raped after it was confirmed by the results of a hospital examination.
The suspect was said to have just been released from prison two months prior after serving a sentence for sexual assault, police spokesman Kritsana Pattanacharoen said.

Perhaps he no longer wants beautiful female tourists to travel to Thailand wearing bikinis. Perhaps he would rather have ugly women wearing bikinis at Thai Beaches. https://www.google.com.kh/url?sa=i&sour ... 0063449135phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2016 6:02 pm wtf!!!

Reminds me of .....
Prayuth Chan-O-Cha forced to apologise for suggesting beautiful tourists put themselves at risk by wearing bikinis days after two British backpackers were murdered on Koh Tao
.....Prayuth Chan-O-Cha was reported to say pretty women made themselves more vulnerable to attacks by wearing a bikini after Hannah Witheridge was brutally murdered on Koh Tao.
Re: Australian woman allegedly raped by tuktuk driver in Bangkok.
Exactly, no-one deserves to be mugged and robbed or even less raped, but crime happens. If the victim had been a guy fresh from a club flashing a rolex there'd be calls of "well what do you expect".
If you're a young and attractive woman, some men are going to want your body, that's a simple fact, just as some would want your rolex, and a tiny portion of those will be prepared to just take it. Especially so if you're under-dressed and intoxicated at 4am, ie "flaunting your assets", not that this is necessarily the case here. Also IMO there is a difference between flaunting wealth in front of poor people, and just being a woman.
