A decent Mechanic who speaks english
Re: A decent Mechanic who speaks english
I would second Vay on russian boulevard. i think he is Dara's brother. Dara would be good too, he looks after my grsstracker which is pretty much the same as the volty.
what is problematic with it? its a GN 250 engine so they rattlle like hell, especially if a cambo has had a go at it because they adjust the valves loose on the basis that they expand more in the heat here. Apart from that the only problem i had in almost 3 years has been batteries and i have been all over including to pattaya 3 times. You can buy mine for 1200, nothing wrong with it at all

Where do you guys reckon would be the best place to take a Yamaha scooter for repairs:
1. Somewhere like Vay's on Russian Boulevard (recommended by friend altho he has Honda 250 cafe racer) or as others have posted here: Victory or Dara on st 15. Not sure whether these guys are any good with scooters coz they seem to specialise in bigger bikes?
2. Local Khmer scooter repair shop recommended by landlord. I've done a simple puncture repair there before but the guy doesn't speak any english
3. Original Yamaha shop on st 169

He's Canadian and has a twinge of a British accent, unless we're thinking of a different person.frank lee bent wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2017 4:50 pm We have a member here who is expert in this subject if he still reads the forum. his name escapes me at the moment- he is Japanese/American and has written extensively on this subject.
Someone help my failing memory.
As for big bike repairs for Yamaha, another vote for Vays, just not Dara or Tony. Not had good experiences with either.
