Post by walkjivefly »

What are typical hourly or daily rates for trades like

* carpenters
* electricians
* plasterers
* plumbers
* general handymen

both Cambodians and barang, in Phnom Penh? You know, ones who actually do a decent job.

Great question! We had Khmer electrician fix a dodgy light switch for $5 including the part. It was a friend of a Khmer friend so I'm not sure if we got a good deal or not. Will be interested to read the discussion.

As I mentioned (and others) on K440: 5$ for unskilled and 10-15$+ for skilled. Short jobs usually cost way more (10-20$ for a few hours sometimes).
