Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On July 13 at 11:55 am, 3 Chinese men were arrested after attacking a 26 year old Cambodian woman and damaging her car with tools on Veng Sreng Street, Sangkat Chom Chao, Phnom Penh.

Before the incident, the victim was driving her car with another Cambodian woman and were on their way to a cafe. When she got out of the car, the suspects took tools to attack the victim, causing her serious injuries and damaging her car.

After attacking the victim, the suspects drove their car and escaped. Police chased the suspects and arrested them, with the evidence, in front of Phnom Penh International Airport.

According to the report, the victim used to work for one of the Chinese suspects named Jo Philip. He threatened to rape her, but he was unable to follow through with the threat. After his threats, the victim filed a complaint to the police, which angered Jo Philip even more, so he fired her. On the day of the attack, the suspect and his crew went to attack the victim and damage her car to get revenge.

After the incident, the suspects, with the evidence, were taken to the police station for questioning and the victim was sent to the hospital to treat her injuries.

I was out at a certain Ministry the other week. I was standing outside, next to a queue mixed with Chinese, Westerners and locals. There was a ministry official doing paperwork for this queue of people.

The Chinese were doing the typical high decibel chattering and phlegm curdle spitting, when one of them lit up a cigarette.

The Khmer official jumped out of his seat and hollered at the guy, in English, to "Smoke over there!!!" gesturing to somewhere in the distance.

It took me aback only because I've never seen a ministry official move that fast, let alone jump out of his chair nor yell out in anger like that.

Is this kind of behavior typical for mainland China? Or only the dregs of that society are in the KOW?
