Siem Reap Scam/Robbery

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Siem Reap Scam/Robbery

Post by prahocalypse now »

from facebook:
ROBBERY ON 26TH STREET BRIDGE
Two wonderful guests staying at Maison 557 hotel stopped briefly on the bridge this morning at 9.00am to watch the fisher men. They were approached by a smartly dressed man around 25 years old who started talking to them about working as a teacher for children with no parents. He showed the guest photos of all the kids at school with a western female teacher with short blonde hair. He carried his papers in a soft black brief case. After leaving the guests realised their Cannon 60D camera was missing.

The guest had just been to their sons wedding and was the main photographer. The camera still contained all the wedding photos.
Guests are offering a LARGE reward for the return of the memory card.

Any I information please contact Maison 557 hotel 089280830

I wonder what the nationality of the scammer/robber is.I

Difficult to imagine not noticing a 1kg camera with a strap around some part of you being lifted.
