Scary as shit. Would not want to step foot in that building, and wonder how many others are so scarily fragile
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

Agreed, what the hell is going on with these sagging beams? Looks like someone was cutting corners.

Yeah it's like the formwork was blowing and falling out but they kept pumping the concrete in regardless.

Two dead in building site accident
Two construction workers died and five others were seriously injured after concrete frames gave way and fell from the 23rd floor of the Mekong View Tower 6 Construction site in Phnom Penh’s Chroy Changva district on Sunday.

The accident occurred at about 2.30am at the site in Chroy Changva commune.

District police officer Sok Vibol identified the two deceased workers as Ban Loash, 48, from Kampong Cham province’s Koh Sotin district, and Neam Hing, 38, from Kandal province’s Loeuk Dek district.

Mr Vibol said that ten workers were pouring cement into the concrete frames when they gave way.

“In the process, the frames broke and fell on the victims,” he said. “Two of them were killed instantly, while the other five, who were stuck by the frames, were rescued by police.”

Weird looking formwork supporting the slab. We do it with steel scaffold frames and rectangular bearers and joists with 18mm ply. It used to be all timber but nowadays steel and aluminium.
Most buildings have tables. They are lifted from floor to floor off gantries with the crane. They are wheeled around and when in position jacked up on screws and levelled. Flat strips of PGI are nailed over the joints. Its repetitive, simple and fast.

RIP for the 2 workers who died, and hope the 5 injured make swift recoveries. Health and Safety practices go towards saving lives and injuries, so does using good equipment and materials for the job standards.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

That’s how it’s supposed to be done.
But it isn’t cheap to do it that way.

Rickety bamboo scaffolding is cheaper.

Interesting on how the competent authorities blamed the tragedy on carelessness, instead of a shoddy construction process.

Hopefully this will be a wake up call to follow recognized safe construction practices.
