Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Moroccan ISAM OUHAKI Detained for Public Disturbance and No Passport

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Phnom Penh: A 33-year-old Moroccan, ISAM OUHAKI, was detained at 09:00 am on July 03, 2018, for disturbing public order.

The department of investigation and procedure (immigration) took a Moroccan man from Chey Chumneas police post for questioning and to verify his documents. He arrived in Cambodia in early 2018. While he has been living in Cambodia, he has no job and has been staying on the street without a passport.

After questioning, he was taken to the Department of Immigration to follow the legal procedure.

He was first reported on HERE for stealing an iPhone.

Interesting. The last post said he was from Monaco. I wondered how a silver-spooner had fallen on such hard times.

Yes. I believe I deleted it because it seemed a bit overboard and had nothing to do with the topic of the man arrested, but you are welcome to try again, and don't take it too hard. Sorry that you didn't get a message about it, as it is our protocol to message people or notate it, but I've just been a bit swamped this week, damnit. Image
