Sam Rainsy is kicking in.
Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht

In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist

Quite the double digit jump. Now I wonder if they will also bump up the long-term visas. Cambodia is getting closer to Vietnam's silly high visa fees.

WoW, looking pretty official. Most official websites, including http://www.tourismcambodia.com/tripplan ... ssport.htm still list the old prices.

These new fees for the Cambodia visa on arrival are to take effect October 1, 2014.

I'm guessing an article from the Cambodia Daily later today...
"Life is too important to take seriously."

"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."

I thought those were for yearly prices (the official ones, which are cheaper, like 130$?). Just realized those are normal visa prices, lol. Oups... That sucks.

As a semi-positive point: the higher the visa goes, the more it'll put pressure on employers to pay it though. Still sucks for retired/self-employed types looking for a cheap life though.

Yep. I suspect more and more long-time expats might eventually have to limp back home if things continue on recent trend. There are fewer and fewer low-hassle visa countries with pleasant living options for the kind of folks you mentioned. The occasional $10/month visa increase won't be a deal breaker, but the summation of all the new visa requirements and higher costs from so many favorite expat locations at the same time will definitely cause some stress.

Do take notice that the name of the higher priced visa (Type-E) is no longer "Ordinary" but has been changed back to "Business"...
