Sunday: Are we so anti-Christian we're turning pro-Islam?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Nor should we have to stop mentioning religion. The " Unrelated to me faith" thread must have been a couple of months ago, and Dags was frothing and saying some totally out of line stuff. It's censorship by trolling. No wonder he doesn't drink, as he can't even control himself when sober.

I do find it fascinating that the likes of you and AddJay are now Stroppy's biggest cheerleaders. It more or less validates my argument as to the hatred and bigotry his original argument leads to.

As far as I know he is welcome to post hear but OD is trying to cool down the religious discussions on these boards.

By the way as to the Isis flag --- I have not been able to verify it on any mainstream News outlet -- only the usual array of Islamophobic hate sites. There was however an incident in London as reported by the Independent (which I do consider to be a valid source).

The point is there is no such thing as an "Isis Flag". There is a flag called the Black Standard in Islamic tradition which is associated with struggle and militancy. Many fly it in support of the Palestinians -- as was proven in the case in London.

The nutters of Isis have simply tried to claim the flag image for themselves as they have also rather crazily tried to claim legitimacy as a Caliphate.

Isis hijacking this flag is no different than militant Jews waving Israeli flags as Palestinian homes are bulldozed or the Westboro Baptist Church members waving American Flags as they troll the funerals of dead American Servicemen.

Sorry to let facts interrupt a good hate rant.
Second attempt, and still didn't address the content. But went of on Isis flags andPalestinian homes being bulldozed for some reason, which I have never commented on.

I don't get the animosity towards Stroppy. I understand that Dags is a ranter, whether it's drink driving or religion. He loses the plot when either is mentioned. I said he was out of order towards Stroppy a couple of months ago in the thread I mentioned. I don't see calling Dags out of order two months ago, and again today, as cheerleading Stroppy? Sorry, but you are talking rubbish and trying to make this about people, rather than the subject. And you see plots everywhere. OD is protecting Stroppy, me and Add Jay are cheerleading. Unfortunately, we can't discuss anything with you Dara and Dags doing your best to smear and derail.

LoL, we forgive you!

Definitely!

So, OD made a controversial call, banning Daggers for 24 hours.

We are both new admin, and we will both undoubtedly make unpopular calls sometimes. I can't even say I agree with Daggers banning, but it was only for 24 hours. OD did why he thought he should do at the time, and has explained his reasoning publicly.

At least he didn't go crazy like a tooth-ached admin and delete shit, or delete our beloved Daggers.

I really like that everyone on this thread has just sucked it up and gotten over the whole banning incident and is still posting on here.

We may make unpopular choices from time to time, but we welcome feedback on it and don't go around banning and deleting anyone and anything we don't like.

Many of us know each other in person, and I like it when things get a little heated from time to time, and there will be times we have to decide at a moments notice if something has gone too far.

I especially like Rain Dog's attitude on the whole thing. He felt no real lines were crossed, thus didn't even think of using the "report this post" feature. If he did feel a line was crosses he would have used it. Great attitude.

I also thought Stroppy was getting a little shitty too. I forget what, but sounded like he was throwing insults around. Meh, so what. Doesn't sound like anyone was really butthurt over anything he said. I can see why some might say he looked protected in this exchange, but we don't protect him, or anyone else for that matter.

And Daggers. Our dear friend Daggers. He is a master of getting people into these debates. I don't think anyone that replied to him on this thread didn't see what they had coming to them.

I think the nice thing about us not having concrete rules about every single little thing you can and cannot do is that it really gives everyone on CEO to do their own thing, and it's not a problem until it's a problem. It also lets us seriously take on feedback from individual users and what they think.

If YOU have a problem with a post, report it! Don't hesitate. The Dragon and I are very reasonable and take EVERYTHING into consideration.

We wouldn't have taken positions as admin if we weren't ready to put in the hard work to give it our best shot. We always listen to you guys, so don't ever hesitate to contact us.

As a random example:

I'll sometimes get complaints about other members via PM (either to me directly, or through the report post function). Sometimes I agree, and sometimes I don't. Either way, I'll go look at the problem, and if it's not too bad I'll leave it and just send a message to the offender to cool it. I don't need to go into a long story about who reported them, etc, it's just a polite request.

I think most people offend others and don't even realize it. I know I've done it. And when I realize I have, genuinely try to make things right.

So, if you see something you don't like, report it. It's not petty. If it bothers you, it's likely someone else, or many others, are also bothered by it. Kind of like when you're in math class and you totally don't get anything the teacher is rambling about. You look around, and everyone looks fine. You say fuck it, and decide not to say anything because it's probably just you. Then, some random geek raises their hand and says they're totally lost. You and half the class all go, "yeah, me too! Glad someone said something!"

So, speak up. We've always been very welcoming about constructive criticism, so let us know!

Just remember, CEO is a community project. It's up to everyone to keep this boat sailing smooth! ! Even the admin play by the same rules, so you should all feel like you have just as many rights on here as we do and it doesn't matter if you have 5,000 posts or 500, if you've been in Cambodia for 20 years or 2 days, and it definitely doesn't matter if you know us all in person or are a total loner and have no plans to ever make it out for a meet-up.

Oh, and I love group hugs. Seems nobody walked off in protest, which is good to see that everyone has thick skin. Things got heated on here, a controversial 24 ban got levied, we all discussed it here without fear of being censored/deleted, and we're all still here.

I've been busy too, Stateside and in the middle of moving to Saudi, so I haven't had the pleasure of reading a lot of threads, but I like what I have seen. You guys deserve more than a group hug for getting along so well with such little moderation and few rules. Gives me hope for humanity, and for Daggers.

I fucking hate unnecessary rules, but realize that some our needed. Let's keep those to a minimum if we can. I love the freedoms on here! It would be a shame to have to over-regulate CEO because of a few spats here and there.

So, get out there and start new threads about whatever you want and see if others find them interesting too. I love seeing new content on here, as I don't have time to find everything on the web myself, but most of the random stuff you guys come up with happen to be something I like. Even this thread!

Ok, time for me to get back on my Kindle Paperwhite and see if my books from the pirate bay have loaded correctly.

Think I got it.

Maybe if I break it down, and ask a specific question of Dara, who communicates under the counter, and RD who goes off on tangents. And maybe they could tell me where they live and if they have recently lived in any of the countries mentioned in the piece.

So. Is this wrong? This seems to describe where I live...........

Here's how it works:
As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving
minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:
United States -- Muslim 0..6%
Australia -- Muslim 1.5%
Canada -- Muslim 1.9%
China -- Muslim 1.8%
Italy -- Muslim 1.5%
Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs.
This is happening in:

Denmark -- Muslim 2%
Germany -- Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%
Spain -- Muslim 4%
Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.

For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims.

They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply.
This is occurring in:
France -- Muslim 8%
Philippines -- 5%
Sweden -- Muslim 5%
Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law.

LoL. Something like that!

Ok, if I come across any ISIS members on my trip to Saudi, I'll befriend them and get the inside scoop. Maybe they're just misunderstood. Image

Not sure why you think I am obligated to respond to propaganda from a book I don't even own (and never would) from an ultra-fringe Christian Missionary in Africa who spends his time (when not bashing Muslims) bashing Gays in Africa.

The fact that even the Billy Graham Foundation (hardly a Muslim friendly outfit themselves) dismisses the book and it's genre as hate and fear mongering (not to mention inaccurate) should tell any normal, rational person (regardless of their religious proclivities or lack of) all they need to know about how much time they need to spend on such rubbish.

As to Stroppy -- I would be fine if he hopped this thread again. I would just hope he could depersonalize his replies and stay on topic. Meanwhile you and AddJay are doing a fine job representing his original viewpoint so I am happy to see you posting too ----- in fact you are the best assets to back up my assertion that his original post was loaded with religious bigotry and Hate and fear mongering.

Don't think I've ever seen so much sound and fury about a topic that should have been laughed out of court. I suggest it is now decently laid to rest. "And may your gods go with you". :beer1:
