This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! Ok ok so now i am coming into my first mindfucking experience in KoW using the ATMs.

They seemed to have changed for the worst.

canadia bank fail to disclose that they only allow 500 USD per withdrawals and if you try to withdraw over it tells you younhave gobe over "YOUR" daily limit.

Infact it is "CANADIA BANKS" withdrawal limit of 500$...

Any reason why you need more than $500 in one day?

Compare to Cambodia's bordering countries the $500 limit is pretty generous

He wanted to pull the salary of the last 12 months. USD 512.47, to be exact.

P.S.: I can pull 2,000 with ANZ bank.

Anz ATM in PP International where you buy your VOA
charged me 33$ USD to withdraw 400$ USD.

This is partly my fault because i chose conversion rate into my local currency. (RIPOFF).

Canadia actually charged me a very fair rate of only 5$ USD to withdraw 500$ USD.

Not bad at all.

OK so im noticing some clear changes here in Cambodia since last year.

Pros -

- beer still 2000 riel per can.

-More girlie bars popping up in Kampot.

-Western food standards remains high.

-Road quality seems to be improving.

-Khmer local food prices still reasonable.

Cons

-The walking ATM feeling is getting stronger.

-Im seeing less Khmer smiles than before.

-Duel pricing gap is getting bigger.

-no bars left in SNV.

- Less bang for your buck.

- alot of jaded expats unsure where to settle next.

Yeh its a scam that has almost phased out nowadays.

Remember if it says would you like to convert this transaction to

×××.××× amount in your currency (AUD $ in this case) click the other option.

Thats a scam , the rate they give is a scam rate.
