Truck Full of Workers Crashes on Sokha Beach, Sihanoukville
Sihanoukville: On June 19 at 6:30 am, a truck transporting construction workers drove off the road on to Sokha beach where it overturned, injuring 21 workers. The accident occurred at the bottom of a short steep downhill part of the road which then turns sharply to the right toward Sokha Hotel.
According to the police report, the brakes of the truck were not working properly, and with the momentum of the descent, the vehicle missed the bend in the road and continued straight ahead, went across a lawn, over the wall, and landed on the beach. Fortunately the accident did not occur during a high tide, and the truck tipped over in the sand.
The injured workers were taken to Chak Angrang Clinic for treatment, and the truck was removed by police to be examined at the Sihanoukville Traffic Police Station.

I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.

That's the public bit on the horse-shoe. He bounced across the lawn, not through the low wall. Plus you're allowed on the beach in front of the resort now. I'm surprised more aren't flung off at that corner, it's quite a difficult bend if you're not paying attention and it's quite sandy on the road.

Workers hurt as truck overturns
June 20, 2018
More than 20 Borey Kuch Asia construction workers were injured when a truck overturned yesterday in Sihanoukville.
Preah Sihanouk province police chief Chuon Narin said that the accident occurred at about 9am.
Touch Nareang, 35, was driving from the end of Ariston Beach to the Sokha Hotel.
But when the truck arrived at a part of the road that sloped and curved, the driver was unable to control the steering properly, making the truck tilt and overturn onto Kantuy Neak Beach.
“Some of the workers jumped from the truck,” Mr Narin said. “Twenty-one workers were slightly injured. We sent them to hospital immediately after the accident.”
“Some workers have returned to work,” he added. “Some were a bit more seriously hurt and we asked them to rest at home first. However, there was nothing very serious.”
Mr Narin said the provincial police did not take any action against the driver. Rather, they just educated him because it had been a minor accident while the road at the scene was sloping and curved. There was also light rain.
