Committed on us soil BUT i take it they are NOT Americans but Cambodians employed at the embassy so no way they get a free ride to the states and US citizens have to foot the billHeng Heng Heng wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:55 pm Wasn't the crime committed on US soil and therefore the jurisdiction of US authorities? Ship them all back to the States and let the Feds deal with them.
I would think the US goverment can do whatever they want to their employees on US soil and wouldn't be surprised that its in their employment contract they, and their personal items can be searched.
Camboida is using them to say,"America is bad"

Re: Sacked US Embassy guards stage protest.
1. I agree, imprison them
2. Do you understand the distinction between US foreign policy /the actions of a govt and its citizens. You are relatively new here, so let me state (hopefully for the LAST fucking time): I have no quarrel with any individual citizens, most Americans I have met have been great people.
3.Likewise (I WILL have to repeat this for gavinmac - scobienz's lapdog on all maters pertaining to dodgy wealth): I have no problem with rich people or wealth. The money itself is no problem...the way one makes it and what one does with it determines whether it is good or evil. Children can understand this distinction. Some on here...not so much.
I hope this is not too highbrow for you, it is for many others. Selective memory, I suspect.
Not sure requesting fair treatment for all equates to 'frothing', perhaps you learned this hyperbole from the IDF, that bastion of human rights. It doesn't work for them, it doesn't work for you.
Feel free to imprison these trashbags or whip them, you'd have carte blanche if it were up to me.

Yes I think that a search of the employees' phones without warrant would be normal for security reasons in an embassy job. I'm surprised that they don't have to check their phones in when they enter the base. The down playing of naming it underage porn instead of child pornography is weird too.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 7:37 amHeng Heng Heng wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:55 pm Wasn't the crime committed on US soil and therefore the jurisdiction of US authorities? There are most likely different tiers of security clearances at the embassy. Each having more stringent requirements and more in depth background checks in order to obtain it.Heng Heng Heng wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 9:19 am I'm surprised that they don't have to check their phones in when they enter the base.
The Cambodians working deep inside the compound doing citizen / immigrant service work probably work under a different set of protocol than the goofballs that run the metal detectors and confiscate your keys for the duration of your visit.
Those guys always seemed pretty relaxed whenever I've visited, coking and joking amongst themselves and I'm sure I can recall on at least one occasion noticing one leaning on his elbow, swiping at an Iphone.
I'd be really surprised if any of the fired were working deep inside doing citizen/immigrant service work.

The original press release/posting mentioned pornography. Now it seems mention of "underage" pornography. That is quite an accusation especially considering the number (25-30) of adults involved. And they are publicly protesting the issue. Hard to believe but this is KOW.

i like how some are trying to justify that they didn't pass it on and had nothing to do with it..
BUT most, (yea i know khmers aren't) people if they got some porn, specially if they worked in a foreign governments embassy and it was Illegal UNDERAGE porn, on their phone they would IMMEDIATELY delete it
Yet the goverment sits by and allows them to protest outside the embassy ..

America is one big at-will employment nation. If an employer wants to terminate you in the States, he only needs to pay you whatever he owes you and out the door you go.
Who gives a flying fuck about these embassy workers jobs?
Why should they get anymore consideration than a worker int he States?
