Pineapple price bounce seen

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Pineapple price bounce seen

Post by phuketrichard » Wed Jun 13, 2018 1:23 pm

I know this is a hot topic with some here;
The government believes pineapple prices are set to recover by the end of next month after efforts to connect modern trade, fresh markets and state Thong Fah Pracha Rat low-cost outlets nationwide

Domestic pineapple prices earlier in the year fell to 2-2.40 baht per kilogramme, far below growers' production cost of 4 baht per kg.

Thailand is expected to produce 2.24 million tonnes of pineapples this year, nearly equivalent to last year's harvest, with the major supply scheduled between May and June. But demand, both at home and... ... ounce-seen
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

No demand here, unless you do your market research and stay small.
2000r pineapples available in many places. Find the right market and you start to look at 10 000r. Of course it's down to contacts and transport. Value adding would make sense, a canning factory or juice.....
Where's an Oknea when you need one?
