Kandal: A couple were arrested after stealing cows to sell in Vietnam at 8:30 am on June 8, at a rice farm in Veng village, Angsnoul district, Kandal. The suspects who were arrested are identified as Heng Cham, a 37 year old driver and his wife, Reth Nan, 35 year old farmer.

A 39 year old neighbor, Sorn San, said that he saw another man, Eu Ech, bring his cows to feed on the grass at the rice farm near his home. A while later, he saw the suspects loading the cows into a truck, so he called the police, who arrived immediately and arrested the couple. The truck was impounded and the cows restored to their owner.

After the arrest, the suspect Heng Cham confessed that he stole the cows to take to Vietnam to sell. He also confessed that over the period of a year he had stolen cattle seven times, and six times he had sold them in Vietnam.

Nothing good comes out of a marriage if the girl is taller than the guy. This is another example.

Cow thieves wrangled
June 11, 2018
Kandal Provincial Court yesterday charged two farmers with theft after the pair was accused of stealing 20 cows from Ang Snuol district villagers to sell them in along the Vietnam-Cambodia border.

Major Veng Kosal, Ang Snuol district deputy police chief, identified the accused as Heng Cham, 37, and his wife Reth Nan, 35, who live together in Ponhea Leu district.
Maj Kosal noted the pair has been jailed pending trial.

He said that on Friday morning at about 8:30 am, the two accused stole two cows from villager Y Vich, 32, who had left the cows tied to a tree to eat grass in Makak commune.

“They have done this again and again,” Maj Kosal said. “They were arrested red-handed as they transported the two stolen cows to sell them to customers in Vietnam.”

Maj Kosal said the couple confessed during an interrogation by police that they have stolen at least 20 cows since they began the scheme.
