Chinese University to be built in Phnom Penh
A Chinese University will be built in Chroy Changva district with the cooperation of the Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation.

Labor Minister Ith Samheng said today after meeting with delegates of Tianjin Polytechnic University at the ministry that the Chinese officials planned to create a big university in the capital’s district.

“They are really interested in improving the economic situation in Cambodia and human resources in our country for the future,” he said.

The Chinese delegation that met with Mr Samheng was led by Lian Jie, secretary of the Tianjin Polytechnic University Committee.

Mr Samheng said that the university will cooperate with the OCIC in order to be built.

Hahahaha!
“They are really interested in improving the economic situation in Cambodia and human resources in our country for the future."

They'll set up another Chinese institute to brainwash Khmers. The Communist Party of China is good. Obey China. President for Life Xi Jinping is good. Obey China. One Belt One Road is good for Cambodia. Obey China. Giving China your entire southern coast is good. Obey China. When you can't repay all the construction loans, giving us all the properties is good for Cambodia. Obey China. China is good for Cambodia. Obey.

Why so negative towards the great efforts China is doing around the world to make world a better place for all of us?
Who has brainwashed you to think that China is bad?

China is good, helping Cambodia and Cambodians to be better and successful.
The more faster you learn that, the more faster your life will be easier.

I agree to some extent, but:

1. The US is still trying its luck with the Lon Nol loan and that fits your model perfectly, and the US behaviour towards G7 and the EU and the rest of the world (wrt their foreign policy) is pretty much what you accuse China of

2. A polytechnic here would be really useful

3. Most Khmers view China favourably/neutrally already.. except maybe in Sihanoukville and with good reason, imo.

A bit of balance, yes?

3. Have to disagree with you on that one. I am the only white face in work with over 100 Khmer staff and none of them are particularly keen of the new wave of investors. Just yesterday one of the managers who looks about as chinese as they come said 'my grandfather came from china, but I hate chinese'
Last week I was traveling in a car on road 3 with a car full of staff. We came across a crashed car, the big boss slowed down, saw the driver and sped on, saying 'oh chen, then I don't care'.
