The only time I used it was when I only had less than two pages left and didn't want to waste a whole one. It was cheaper than having to go get pages added to my passport.

They should accept the E-visa at the Bavet, Poipet, and Cham Yeam land border crossings.

Just renewed my visa for 6 months today. Advised by my travel agent that as of today there is a new director at Visa issuing office and prices have gone up by around $5 (just my luck), its now also taking 7 working days as opposed to the couple of days that it used to be. Not sure if that is a temporary thing while they changeover or if its going to be that way permanently, but worth bearing in mind.

Anyway paid $158 for 6 month extension at Cina Travel on street 130

Damn. This is starting to sound official.

This is definitely news!!

In the 5+ years I've been here (brag brag brag) it's never taken longer than a 1 day, or 2 at the very max, and that was likely do to the agent just not submitting it ASAP.

Can you do us a favor and see which official stamped off on it? Would be nice to actually verify the change of director's, as I don't recall reading anything in the papers about it.

And did you check other travel agents? Maybe Cina's charging you more, or fell out of grace with their official. I go to "A to Z travel" on the NE corner of 19 and 130. In February it was $283 for 1 year visa, 2 day turnaround.
I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.

I just heard someone else say it took a few days and cost them about $10 than usual.

Definitely $285 for a year, plus $10 facilitation, three weeks ago. Two working days, delivered to my apartment.

I will let you all know when I get my visa back next week. Its possible that this is down to Cina of course and i'm being fed a line, but in the 4+ years i've been going there they've been both very competitively priced and incredibly honest about everything. Incidentally I took 2 friends there the same day who both got 3 month visa extensions - also 7 days wait.

I hope this is just down to a transition rather than a permanent change but I guess we will see...

^ sounds suss to me. The uniformed airport official that facilitated our visa extensions was quoting "official prices" so unless that's changed in three weeks, you might be getting ripped.

I mostly used the travel agent next to KFC on monivong. Before KFC was there. They used to have a deal that was $30 or so cheaper but took 3 weeks. That stopped about the same time Hok Lundy got cooked. My last visa extension I got I just used Capitol bus as I couldn't be assed getting to Phnom Penh.

StroppyChops the official price for a 12 month extension is apparently around the $140 mark, require paperwork and take around 4-6 weeks. I've never heard of anyone getting it though.

I've never heard of anyone getting it at that 'official' price either, although the question was specifically asked elsewhere on a regular basis. It might be an interesting way to waste a few days finding out if this actually exists - on one hand you'd think it must, because the fixers must be making big dollar somewhere, they wouldn't be doing it for an extra $10 delivered.
