Good wine can be found all over Cambodia. The problem is most places lack proper storage for it and temperature fluctuations can kill a wine. Even if you find a place that keeps some of its wines in proper wine refrigerators, you have no idea how long it sat on a hot palette someplace before delivery. For this reason it does not make much sense to buy expensive wine here ... it is risky.

Any wine I have had here for under $10 tasted like pure rot gut. On the other hand, I think anything over $25 here borders on conspicuous consumption here (buy for show). Buy in the $10 to $25 range and you can find a lot of quality here. It will be a matter of taste --- Apothic and Barefoot are a couple American red wines I prefer ---- and Spanish Riojas and Temperanillos never disappoint in this price range. There are plenty of Australian wines here too but they tend to be a bit overpriced IMHO. There are tons of French wines available but you have to know what you are buying. For a country that has such a reputation for wine they seem to drop a lot of trash product into export markets.

There is a wine and liquor store on a street that runs 2 or 3 streets parallel to the rail station. Sorry, I do not know the name. I go there on the bike and only know it by eye. I do not know street name.. They sell imported wines and liquors from around the world. Damn good prices too.
