Phnom Penh: On May 22 at 9:30 pm, a group of Chinese tourists of about 4 or 5 people were robbed by a gang of thieves on Preah Monivong boulevard, near Asian Palace Hotel, Sangkat Veal Vong, Khan Prampel Makara, Phnom Penh.
The group of Chinese people were crossing Monivong Bvd, when suddenly a gang of thieves on two motorbikes swooped down and stole a bag from one of the Chinese tourists. Then the suspects rode away on the motorbikes. The Chinese victims screamed for help until the local police arrived on the scene to assist them. The victims lost $1,000 and a few passports.

After the incident, the Chinese filed a complaint to the police who are now searching for the suspects.

Cambodia will get a bad name for this kind of theft. Do you think this kind of thing happens in China?
Always "hope" but never "expect".

I find it funny that Chinese coming to loot the country get robbed while here.

Bound to happen, the only people you see walking at any time of the days are chinese and they aren't cautious at all.

Oh, sometimes you can see westerners too but obviously it doesn't look like they have much to steal ... :stir:

Westerners with more than 10000 Riel in their pocket use motorized transportation like the locals. Millionaire Chinese walk around on foot to save 2000 Riel.
