and than;
Malaysia’s new leadership said former Prime Minister Najib Razak, on the heels of a historic election loss on Wednesday, would be prevented from leaving the country, after a flight manifest surfaced showing him booked to fly to Indonesia on a private jet on Saturday morning.

watch the short video.

"Malaysia’s opposition ousted the ruling coalition, clearing the way for new investigations into Prime Minister Najib Razak’s alleged misappropriation of money in the 1MDB corruption scandal, possibly one of the largest global financial scams of all time."
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Malaysia's Najib found guilty of corruption in first 1MDB trial

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Malaysia’s former leader Najib Razak was found guilty of corruption on Tuesday in the first trial linked to a multi-billion dollar scandal at state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) that stretched to the Gulf states and Hollywood.

The case was widely seen as a test of Malaysia’s resolve to stamp out corruption and could have big political implications for the Southeast Asian nation.

Najib, 67, appeared calm, albeit stony-faced as the judge delivered the guilty verdict. He had led the country for almost a decade before losing the 2018 election.

“After considering all evidence in this trial, I find that the prosecution has successfully proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt,” Kuala Lumpur High Court Judge Mohamad Nazlan Mohamad Ghazali said.
