American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq
Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq
The Aarabs about every twenty years forget that Israel can kick their ass anytime. You launch missiles at peoples homes, family, country and expect them to not bring the full might of their military down on your people? The Jews aren't going to take Sh*t from anyone ever again and I don't blame them. Kill one of our citizens, we will kill 20 of yours. Israel is the only country that I agree in America sending foreign aid. We give Egypt one BILLION dollars of our tax money every year and they hate us? Corrupt/bought-off American politicians are bleeding my country dry.
Its a little interesting history. I have a K-98 Mauser rifle from WWII that still has the swastika manufacture proof makes on it. It also has Israeli military makings on it. During their war of independence they bought arms from anyplace they could get them, but its interesting they didn't take the time to file off the swastikas no matter how small. Guess they were to busy shooting arabs to keep them from killing their families and destroying their homes/new nation.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq
The Americans are responding to aid the Kurds of N. Iraq, one of the largest ethnic groups in the world without a country. They are in Turkey, Iran, Syria, and Iraq, predominantly. They were divided in that matter by the Imperial British to create as much division in the area. They act as a de-stabilizer against all three major regional empires: the Arabs, the Persians, and the Turks.
The Kurds are somewhat hapless as a people/nascent nation, since they have three very large and some sophisticated enemies that never want them to unite and create their own country out of their land. The Kurds are also divided amongst themselves, by country and by internal political divisions as well.
They are however quite moderate as Muslims, and are anti-Arab, so good allies of the US. Because they limited Arab entry into the autonomous Kurdish north, it was (and still is) one of the safest places in the country. Nearly the entire interior of the northern third of the country was safe from a huge majority of attacks in Iraq (I am excluding border towns like Mosul and Kirkuk, of course).
They also shelter the largest group of the oldest Catholics in existence in the area, the Chaldeans. They were mentioned in the Bible, and claim descendancy from Thomas the Apostle.
The Kurds are right in the middle of the area ISIS (or whomever they are today) wants to control, in eastern Syria and northern Iraq.
Must be a really good reason for Obama to offer up some strikes. He hates spending money on defense, even for the defense of a loyal, and true, if down-trodden ally against the terrorists among the Arabs.
See what happens when the West leaves? Look at Cambodia. The KR genocide would've never happened if the French were still in charge. And the Philippines have been downhill ever since Uncle Sam left Clark.
Korea, Japan, and Germany: big modern countries with extended peace. And American bases (for several decades in the case of Germany). Thailand and Singapore have small bases, and are well-off.
Iraq can suffer the fate of the Philippines through sheer pride (and machismo): having to crawl back to the West to beg for protection, after kicking out the biggest golden goose their cards could give them. Sure, it takes decades (1-2 generations) to really influence a country, and there'll be little conflicts here and there, but you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette ...
The Kurds, however, in my opinion, need all the help they can get.

It's kind of interesting that everyone forgets that the creation of the state of Israel was bought by bankers, pure and simple, and is considered by most to be an illegal, or at best, a glaringly unethical act.
And perhaps someone should direct those forgetful people to a site that explains how thousands were evicted from homes/businesses, had their land and houses STOLEN and their futures destroyed.
They didn't wake up one morning and decide to kill a bunch of Jews. in modern times, prior to 1948, the problems between mixed faiths in Palestine were sporadic and relatively minor.
People keep focusing on the wrongs committed by Arabs now, without remembering WHY this is happening.
It's reminiscent of the republican response to 911, the forbidden topic is WHY?

Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right?

That doesn't solve the problem of what to do with 6+million Jewish Israelis who now inhabit that land and refuse to leave. We all understand the Palestinians' plight and the region's recent history, but have no idea what to do about it, aside from a peaceful 2-state solution, which several hard-line groups on both sides continually say they will never accept.vladimir wrote:It's kind of interesting that everyone forgets that the creation of the state of Israel was bought by bankers, pure and simple, and is considered by most to be an illegal, or at best, a glaringly unethical act.

I usually don't LOL but it seems appropriate here. You might want to read a good history of Jerusalem. The city has seen more blood spilled over religion than one can fathom and it certainly didn't begin in 1948.vladimir wrote: prior to 1948, the problems between mixed faiths in Palestine were sporadic and relatively minor

Would've never happened if the US were there in strength.
Wait until we run. Under Obama we ran.
Always have a superpower to ensure your safety and deliver you funds and high-technology. Yes, you have to play fair and be likable, to both them and your constituency, but you end up with a great civilization.
Examples of countries America bombed then rebuilt: Korea, Japan, Germany. Places with peace and US bases: Panama, Thailand, Singapore, Cuba. Took a few decades. Lasting effect. Lasting peace.
Places in danger because Americans were asked to leave: the Philippines. Iraq, Afghanistan.
Am I missing any contrary instances?

imagine the confusion when the sets of orders for those planes gets crossed...taranis wrote:Getting back on track for a moment. There is not much else that can be done, the USA has to do something, and bomb it must the ISIS. Also the US and UK are now dropping food supplies to the Yezidis.

If the French had stayed in France after the Japanese war, there would have been no reason for a communist revolution in Vietnam. Ho Chi Min, Pol Pot and all their buddies wouldn't have gone to France to study communism. Without a communist revolution, the American war never would have happened. No American war, No ho chi min, no ho chi min trail= no bombing of eastern Cambodia. No Ho Chi Min, No bombing, no Pol Pot= no KRHotRecruiter wrote:
