Taekwondokas medal success
11 May 2018
Cambodian Taekwondokas have captured two gold, a silver and a bronze medal after the third day of competition at the 9th Asian Taekwon-Do ITF Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

According to reports from the Taekwondo Federation of Cambodia, gold medals came from Sopheak Chan Oudom and Pal Chivorn, while the silver and bronze medals were both captured by Mat Sok Mean.

The event concludes on Monday, with the kingdom sending 24 athletes to compete for silverware in the regional event.

This latest crop of medal wins will do much to boost the prestige of the burgeoning sport in Cambodia. In March, The Taekwondo Federation (ITF) said it would be pushing to include the sport at the 32nd Phnom Penh SEA Games in 2023.
