Re: Barang name on hard title
i am assuming ur not a cambodian citizen yet? so ur wife will be the primary name on that title and u need to hv marriage certificate if u want the property to be pass on to u if something happen to ur wife, but in this case as u might already known, u r not a cam citizen, u will hv 3 months to sell it in the case if ur wife unfortunately demise.Barang chgout wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 8:00 am Yeah, looking to get my name on the title along with my wife's name.

Re: Barang name on hard title
I don't need to have any claim to the land and I'm brother married nor a citizen.
I understood some 'husbands ' have their names on the title, I don't care if it's 49% or 1%.
However, for reasons of my own, I would love to be able to get my name on there.
The wife inquired through her family in Pursat and was told cannot unless I perhaps wanted to pay 60k for citizenship.....Lol.

Pay some dollars to speak with a property lawyer (not an agent) that specialises in real estate. Friends from another country recently secured hard title in their own names on an apartment.
AFAIK hard title is not available to barang on land.

Re: Barang name on hard title
Form a joint partnership, one in which you control less than 50% - say a 51/49% split. The partnership's name goes on the title.
Re: Barang name on hard title
I don't think it can be done here! That is to say without high costs involved. But yours and wife's place (business) can be done with some present of ownership.Barang chgout wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 8:00 am Yeah, looking to get my name on the title along with my wife's name.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

Been there, done that.
The property lawyers will offer you various forms of lending agreements, where the house is mortgaged to you as part of the contract. Clauses can state that you have a perpetual lease and that the house or property cannot be sold without your permission.
In my case, the courts ruled in my favour at all levels, including the Supreme Court.I was awarded damages as compensation for land she sold behind my back and for the house, which was mortgaged to secure a personal loan from another source and later claimed by the loan provider.
The problem is collecting what is owed. Two years later, I haven't received a cent, as no assets or funds can be found. Best of luck, but it hasn't worked for me. Minority partnerships don't give any guarantees either, judging by anecdotes from others.
