Cambodia's Karate Kids Bring Home 5 Medals
Cambodian Karateka’s grab medals in Hanoi

The Cambodian Karate team has captured five medals from the 7th Southeast Asia Karate Federation Championships which wrap up later today in Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Vietnam.

The competition is jointly held by the Vietnamese Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Southeast Asian Karate Federation.
Nearly 550 participants from nine countries in the region including Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and hosts Vietnam are competing at the 7th edition of the event.
The event which features the men’s, women’s teams categories and individuals’ classes is divided into four groups of age: 14-15, 16-17, over 18, and under 21, fighting for 52 sets of medals.
Going into today’s final day, the Cambodian team garnered five medals from the event; Ly Soueng won a silver and a bronze medal, while Chrun Virakbout, Chhay Yuki, and Chhang Srey Phea all added bronze medals to lift Cambodia’s tally to five.
