Vietjet starting daily flights between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City
Re: Vietjet starting daily flights between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City
Excluded tax and surcharges.......
Departure tax: 25 USD
Fuel surcharge: unknown amount of USD
A single trip will end up costing at least 50 USD. That's quite steep for a 250 km trip, especially if you consider the time you will actually save. I guess a door-to-door service to HCMC from Phnom Penh will take at least 4 hours when you fly. Not sure how long the bus will take you... 6 hours to central HCMC?

Good point. I don't fly short haul international much, I'd forgotten about airport tax.Kammekor wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 9:05 amSince the departure tax at Siem Reap is 25 USD for an international departure there is simply no way you will find a one way flight for 22 USD.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2017 9:41 pmBut are those cheap seats available or do you have to "upgrade" ?Arget wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2017 9:29 pm ll prices are in US Dollar

I had a look at the flights SR- Hanoi for next month, which are SO cheap - about $22 - but sorry not available, and next class is at around $150. And that's one way.
Is that a usual thing for these Vietjet "promotion" prices ?
Any other ideas for flying SR-Hanoi welcome.
In any case, I figure when I see a ticket advertised for $22, then I could hope to get it for maybe $66. But when its already $150, well its $150.
Re: Vietjet starting daily flights between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City
So! Had I been given wrong information on price? Maybe not according to the wonder of internet booking. But offering cheap seats that don't apply, but maybe only for some of the elite or own country folk. The price and time travel don't add up to the chance of seeing the bikini girls.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Airlineratings.com give their Low-cost Flyer Award to VietJetAir this year.
VietJetAir Best Ultra Low-Cost Award Winner For 2018
VietjetAir.com, the inaugural winner of the Airlineratings.com Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline 2018 is bringing back the romance of travel but at bargain prices.
Flight attendants love their job and pilots give passengers a commentary of where they are and the landmarks below.
Since launching in December 2011, the airline has quickly grown its fleet and subsequently its number of destinations opening up affordable travel to all including those that perhaps couldn’t afford air travel before.
The airline to date has flown over 40 million passengers, and been awarded 32 domestic and nine international accolades such as being named “The Best Asian Low-Cost Carrier 2015” at the TTG Travel Awards 2015.
Vietjet operates a fleet of A320s in a 3-3 configuration with black leather seats. A special business class configuration (Skyboss ticket type) is also available with red leather seats.
And while in a tight 29-inch configuration the seats do recline.
For a small fee, you can select quiet seats up the front or exit rows. Also windows and aisle seats attract a small premium. Blankets, pillows, gifts and gimmicks can be purchased on board.
And, unlike some low-cost airlines, the cabin crew take safety seriously focusing on seat belts and exits being kept clear.
The airline serves 38 destinations in Vietnam and 35 international locations.

OK for Cambodians. For me having to pay for a visa for a long weekend is not a good deal. Same flight time to Bangkok and no visa costs.

Lot's of western countries are visa free for 15 days, not only cambodians.

Can not find a flight Phnom Penh Saigon.
That's over, I think.

Re: Vietjet starting daily flights between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City
I don't think Vietjet ever flew between SGN and PNH. If they did, it was for a very short period. They announced the service in late 2017. And when I checked, there were no flights on the sked. Then there were Mon, Wed and Fri flights on the sked for a short time, then there were none again. I tried to book several times but there always no flights available. I think they quietly abandoned PNH in very short order.
Re: Vietjet starting daily flights between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City
Never found a PP - HCMC flight with VietJet, I don’t know why they advertise it and don’t schedule the flights.
