Is it Safe to Visit Thailand ?

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Yes of course! Just stay in local places to stick with expat folks who live there for a long time. Unless there are any political crisis you should be fine ;)

One of the best holidays I had was in the southern provinces. Blissfully devoid of tourists.

Lived in Hat Yai and Songklah for a while when I was at PSU doing some research. Great place and lovely people. Happy memories!

I dont care much for Hat yai, or Pattani but do like satun on the west coast
Kota Bharu in Malaysia(just over the border) is nice as well.

IN fact, next week, gf is off so am possible heading on a road trip down south
BTW bombs going off all over the south still, but they seem to target; Military, police, teachers.
Most NOT reported except in local news

12 April 2018
There are 60 unexplained deaths of British nationals in Thailand in just two years, a new report claims.

The Daily Mail citing figures from the Foreign Office says that between 2014 and 2016, 1,151 British nationals died in Thailand.

While the cause of most of those deaths has been established, 60 are currently classed as “unknown”.
