What items would you most like to see in an Import Store?

The overall issue with food is that it has special tariff, sometimes even needing approval letters (read bribes) from various related ministries. A real nightmare. Perhaps once I have a regular trade route running and am seeing success on the non food items it will expand into that... but as of now it's a real hassle.

The rest is good advice! Makeup was already planned... my wife insisted. I'm actually thinking Bare Minerals, and L'Oreal, as well as a line of the Burt's Bees products. The ladies razors I wasn't aware there was a shortage of... not being much of a leg shaver, and I'll certainly add. Underwear... jesus... I can just see it now, me walking into a Target checkout lane with an entire cart full of panites and bras.

And Tom's of Maine natural toothpaste, underarm deodorant, soap.

Those natural brands may be on my wish list but I really wonder how well they'd sell. They'd be too expensive for the khmers who would rather pay $2 for a 4-bar pack of (stinky petrochemical) soap than look after their skin (but spend $10s of dollars on rejuvenating youth L'Oreal because it's a western brand name).

i cant really imagine, if there is a special thing, that would make sense to import - if you are not a big reseller...
the big barbeques, well.. hm...
make up... hm... you need a lot (of colors, textures, and there are a lot of online stores out there).

the problem in cambodia is ONLINE SHOPPING
- payment (paypal, bank account )
- shipping (companies dont ship, also for payment in general weird).

if you had a forwarder company...
- i will order you to buy a thing in a certain shop (incl. ebay) for a certain price
- and you pay (maybe not always necessary) and forward it to me
i would be interested.

partly, this concept is existing (only forwarding, without paying), but its anyway too expensive.
10% on the total shop price would be fine to pay, plus cheap tracked shipping from the US.

I would go for some tools. Having moved from the US, and then again from China I've pretty much had to leave them all behind. They're probably available in PP already though.

Nutrition for endurance athletes. Bars, gels, sodium tablets. Recovery powder and powder mix for long endurance training. There are a lot of cyclists around these days, and apart from a very limited supply of Hammer products, clif bars and gatorade , there is little else. There are many gyms, many expat athletes, and now a hipster crossfit group. You could shift a lot of stuff. Still, you are competing with sites such as chain reaction in Uk that ship here via DHL for only $30 fee.
