Re: Free drinks for CEO members from Alamo Cafe in Phnom Penh
This has been handled in a quite civilized manner but I must disagree that negative reviews should be handled by PMs. If advertising is allowed on this forum as a "public service" then reviews, whether negative or positive should be viewed in the same light.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Correct. Anyone has the right to post negative reviews as long as all facts presented are true. Personally if I have a bad experience that does not involve dangerous behavior or something similar, I usually try to contact the venue and give them a chance to correct it before posting on a public forum, and I would certainly appreciate it if people did the same for us. However, that is a preference, not a requirement. The comments about the blue corn tortillas actually gave us valuable information.

I also appreciate your positive wishes. The offer still stands to come back and let us see if it was just a one-off thing or if our food is just not to your liking.

Alamo Cafe will be open our normal hours over the Khmer New Year holiday. For those who don't know what they are:
Monday-Saturday, 11AM (usually earlier) - 8PM. On Sundays we are officially closed but we sometimes fill orders that arrive by 1PM or so. It mostly depends upon what we are doing at the time.

The post above is an invitation for people to say you are unreliable.....
" I ordered the poppers last Sunday morning, they were great. I tried again this Sunday and they were shut. I tried XYZ instead and they were good and reliable" .
Or
" it seems sometime they are open and sometimes they are not. Just like dealing with a Khmer run enterprise that calls itself a business"

Hi everyone. Our new menu is out, and the admin has kindly updated the photos on the first post. We have several new items, and the price has changed on some of the old ones as we have gotten a better idea of our costs--some went up, some went down. The Alamo chicken went up in price but the portions were increased by a much larger margin. Ribs are now a permanent item, as are Black Angus burgers, smoked mac and cheese, smoked chicken thighs, and a few more new dishes, but we will generally only be smoking each item once per week so when that batch is gone we won't have any more until the following week. Have a great Khmer New Year everyone.
