Fair point about humidityUsername Taken wrote: ↑Sat Apr 07, 2018 7:34 pm ^^ It's the humidity that sweats it out of you.
Last night, just before the rains I woke up hot and sweaty and could feel rain imminent.
Dehydration is real, regardless of whether it 's been hot lately or not.
And alcohol

I did a bit of a 'too sharp' turn on my moto not so long ago while carrying one of those 20KG water bottles, misjudged the weight distribution and ended up sprawled all over a very busy road. Within seconds, I was surrounded by people who had seen what had happened, immediately left what they were doing and came running over to help me up, with genuine concern as to my well-being. Two guys stopped the oncoming traffic while others pulled me to the safety of the side of the road. Aside from the sheer embarrassment of the episode, I was thankfully unhurt.
Was I surprised by people's reactions? Not in the slightest. I've been here for over a year now, I have made many Khmer friends in my time, both through work and pleasure, and the response was typical, unremarkable, and certainly not newsworthy. To me and what I've learned about Khmer culture, this is what they do and how they naturally react to things like this.
I can honestly, hand on heart, say that I couldn't have been so sure of such a positive response back home in London. People love to be 'bystanders' back home. Their main concern would be to pull out their phones and start filming for YouTube.
