Phnom Penh: A 72 year old American teacher, DAVID MICHAEL DEAN, died of a heart attack while staying at SY hotel on street no.72/172, Sangkat Psar Thmey3, Phnom Penh.

The source said that the victim checked-in at SY hotel on March 20, staying in room no 22 on the 2nd floor.
Before the incident, on March 30 at 12:15 am, the American left his room to order some drink and fruit to eat. After eating, he wanted to go back to his room as he was clearly not well. The hotel staff saw that he was ill, so they helped to carry him up the stairs, but upon reaching the 12th step of the stairway, the victim kneeled down and died immediately.
The police were called and came to examine the body immediately. They confirmed that the victim had died of a heart attack.

The body was taken to Teuk Tlar pagoda for funeral preparations. RIP.
