New international checkpoint to open in Battambang

Cambodia and Thailand are due to open an international checkpoint bordering Battambang province and Sa Kaeo province to facilitate the flow of goods across the border at the end of this month.

Nguon Ratanak, Battambang provincial governor, and Porn Poth Penpas, Sa Kaeo provincial governor, held a meeting on Monday and decided to upgrade a border checkpoint, which will now be called the Kilo 13 International Checkpoint, on March 30.

Soeum Bunrith, deputy governor of Battambang province, said yesterday that the international border checkpoint was open for business yesterday but will officially open on March 30.

i dont see how this is any benefit to tourists, there are already 2 crossings (Ban Laem, Ban Pakard), near Batt and i have yet to see another tourists there when cross

....Opening of the new permanent crossing is expected to ease border traffic in Aranyaprathet.

Yes you are correct, I should have been more clear in the point of a border crossing for all visiting, or traveling nationality's.

if they we serious they could route the pp2bkk buses thru there starting asap
else new cross border buses eg. battambong 2 pattaya or chantaburi or sa kaew
