Best way to call the Phils
I usually dont use the phone and also make hardly any international calls. But now I need to make call to the cell phone number in the Philippines. I dont want to start upping up a credit with skype. My local provider here is Metfone. Maybe someone has a cheap and practical idea.
THANKS!
THANKS!

Re: Best way to call the Phils
do you have Whatsapp or Viber? If so, it should show in your contacts if they do and you can call for free.

Unfortunately I dont have a smart phone, just a good old nokia which somehow survives forever. Happy me. I might try the internet option. I have not seen to many cafes but that's sound plausible. It worked 10+ years ago in thailand pretty well.
THANKS!

Re: Best way to call the Phils
Most phone companies here have international call packages. I am with metfone, I think I pay something ridiculously small ($.10 per month) and it reduces my calls to UK/US and others to $.03 per min (checked the website but it doesn't mention Philippines, maybe other companies will)Pizzalover wrote: ↑Sun Mar 18, 2018 3:30 pm Unfortunately I dont have a smart phone, just a good old nokia which somehow survives forever. Check the website of your phone provider here for the best deals. gotta be cheaper, and more private than an internet cafe.
Or splash out on a smartphone, can get a good enough one for around $120 and will probably save you money on tuktuk fees by using apps etc

Re: Best way to call the Phils
just a quick update:
I tried 5 or 6 internetcafes in the O'Russei and Central Market area. NONE offered phone calls. It seems that this has been banned?
Made short regular calls which was not too bad and worked. I will now check for the package with Metfone.
Thanks for all the info
