Dutch megafrauding fugitive couple live happily in Dubai on Cambodian passports

GT:
No passport for escaped real estate magnate Lips

THE HAGUE (AFN) - The real estate magnate of former Roger Lips and his wife flee to Dubai do not get any new Dutch passports. An appeal to the Council of State, after a previous decision to the detriment of the couple, did not matter.
The minister had refused the passports at the request of the examining magistrate investigating the bankruptcy of the Lips real estate group. The court declared their appeals unfounded in January last year. The Council of State did the same thing on Wednesday.

The property trader was declared bankrupt a few years ago, because he owed more than 100 million euros to several banks. Among other things, he brought SNS Bank into trouble.

In 2013, Lips was put in the cell for a short time because he did not cooperate sufficiently in the investigation into his personal bankruptcy. When he was released, Lips fled to emirate Dubai, which has no extradition treaty with the Netherlands. According to reports, the couple are now in possession of Cambodian passports.

Let’s just hope they also have Khmer personnel, and be good to them for a change!

Lucky they're not American, or their embassy would help them get extradited anyways.
