Students track stolen motorbikes with GPS

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Phnom Penh: On March 3 at 2:30 pm, 2 thieves tried to steal two motorbikes, but got busted thanks to the victims' GPS.
The police said that the two victims are Chhom Ponnakreth,18 year old student and Pem Sovita,20 year old taxi driver, both are from Kandal Province. The suspect who was arrested is Chorn Sovannareth, 45 years old from Kampong Cham.

The story is that 6 young people on 3 motorbikes went to eat something at a restaurant in the Kean Svay area. While they were waiting for food, a kid came to tell them that their motorbikes had been stolen. After that they tried to find the motorbike by following the GPS system and contacted the police for help.
The two thieves were tracked down just as they were changing the number plate of the motorbike. The police moved in and arrested one thief, but the other one was to quick for them and he escaped.
