We couldn't work out why the housekeeper was whipping through so much laundry powder (after initially teaching her that you don't put two cups in the machine) and there was no hint that she was nicking it. It turns out she mixes it with bleach to wash the floors. She doesn't do that any more.

Try it. came off an ammonia bottle, my mom used it for years and if you google you'll find one entry that the person had been using it since the 50s. Up side, ya got vinegar around for other uses. Ammonia is good for cleaning glass and well, baking soda, not sure that's real useful to most of us, but the stuff DOES work and probably a little more enviro friendly than most cleaners. Plus indredients ain't that expensive. Not sure how hard it is to find ammonia there tho.
