Also, if he's half presentable, take him to a western restaurant.

P.S. Don't take it personal if he doesn't say "thank you." It's consisted a treat to treat someone, but they are still appreciative.

I remember taking my landlord's son (calm down, he's mid-twenties) to a restaurant, and after a while he complained that the waitress was ignoring him.

I said that he hasn't even asked her to come over.

He said that he'd been looking at her, and that's the Cambodian way to get their attention, LoL. I informed him he usually needs to do more than that to get service in Western restaurants.

I believe him, as I've had times I'm just checking out a waitress, and to my embarrassment she comes over, "Yes, can I help you?"

Hard to explain, "no, I was just checking you out, thanks."
