It is, heavily cultivated and you'd have to be really unlucky. Yes, I am aware about Battambang and there are place where I would not wander off the track. However, the question was about Siem Reap and you would have to wander a fair bit to be ending up in B'bang.

i'd say the area south from Pailin to Koh Kong towards the thai border is worse than Batt
