Re: NEW TOYS! CEO is upgrading!
I have no issues with avatars. But, yes, I have noticed the odd symbols in various places.OrangeDragon wrote:well it's all the same site now, so if it works on the number and not the url it means "something" is blocking the images from the URLs.
Example... your avatar is:
https://cambodiaexpatsonline.com/downloa ... 263175.jpg
and also
http://108.166.183.28.com/download/file ... 263175.jpg
They point to exactly the same thing now that the DNS has updated globally. Click on both and see what you get.
Clicking on the first link above works for me.
The second link gives a 'Server not found' error. Immediately.
However, this one works http://108.166.183.28/download/file.php ... 263175.jpg
[notice there's no dot com]

The avatars - possibly a cache issue, confusion caused by duplicate files for same reported (but physically different) domain. Try clearing the cache just for giggles, Jaap.

there's not supposed to be a dot com... it's an ipaddress (which is what the dot com names get translated into by dns behind the scenes). weird that it's not working for you.
and the odd symbols will be a universal issue with the database. everyone sees them like that.

I just have a habit of assuming people hard refresh (Shift-F5) before posting issues.StroppyChops wrote:Happy to serve.Jaap N. wrote:SC, cheers, mate, that worked like a charme, I'm a full member again, I can see all avatars now!StroppyChops wrote:The avatars - possibly a cache issue, confusion caused by duplicate files for same reported (but physically different) domain. Does that make me a bad person?
