Australian Expat PATRICK SMITH Injured by Hit & Run Driver in Phnom Penh

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

The OP seems to care more for the beautiful white scoopy.

What a mess was made. Not stopping shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

He also seems to have worked with DFDL in the past.

This guy was subject to a hit and run, presumably didn't do anything wrong and surely didn't choose or want to get his pictures posted on the internet with his full name included. Maybe the jokes about his appearance should rather be told in private?

On the positive side - the guy looks a bit stunned but not too badly hurt, people stopped to help him and call an ambulance, no one stole his wallet or his motorbike.

I think it's a Cambodian thing. He's an accident victim, but he's alive, so can be joked about, so I guess that's also positive. Only hope he has a sense of humour.

Lets hope the competent authorities can bring the perpetrator to justice.

Saw this yesterday and was wondering what had happened as I didn't see his motorbike, but his injuries seemed to severe for a simple walking stumble. Part of me assumed he had jumped off the second floor at Khmer Solar.

Well, at least he's a pretty good advertisement wearing shorties while on the road in Cambodia is not the best idea. His shin looks pretty fucked up, he'd better get some vaccinations quickly. Hopefully the helpful police-guy reminded him of that.
