Re: Java wanderings.
$80 a month for the room (never anyone here. Good wifi). $50 a month for the bike. $3 a day for food . Naughtiness brings it to about $US 500 a month total.Abc123 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2018 6:20 pmhttps://i.imgur.com/UKvCa5Yl.jpgKung-fu Hillbilly wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2018 5:54 pmI'm using a 50 dollar smart phone, the cheapest phone with a camera I could buy as I've never tried taking photos before....no luxuries. Also, if I am going to gain from a person with a disfigurement or thaey have what I think might be something interesting, I will pay them if they want. Thanks for the advice.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2018 3:55 pmI shoot portraits 75% of the time, u just need smile, point ur camera and......... You cant be shy about it, for me, its second nature now...Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 10:49 am Nice pictures. How do you get so many portraits? I can never bring myself to snap people. Do you just smile and ask them? Show them other pictures and say you're a photographer or something?
than after, show them the shot (love digital) an than u find everyone around wants there photos done..
I have never paid ( and suggest nobody pay as it sets it a standard for others to ask for $$), unless i know the photo will be used commercially and than need a signed release as well.
PS; I like some of ur shots, u have a good feeling and sense, BUT, (and please take this as advice and not attacking you) work on ur composition and be aware of ur F stop, for death of field more.
If u care to see where i am coming from, http://phuket.zenfolio.com/portfolio
Great stuff. $50 phone is working well. I like your composition. Kinda Japanese/ post impressionist.
Java makes me think of batiks ( megamemnon is a great design), gamalan (far superior IMO to that of Bali) and I guess coffee?
Are you getting through much cash there? Care to quote some prices?
Cheers.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Vicky and Nono are happy for to offer those rates for long term residents. You're welcome to email them. I'm on a two month tourist visa. You can get a six month visa if you have a sponsor. Your friends may want ask about sosbud visas as you can repeat this six month visa process endlessly with a day trip to Singapore. I know people who have lived here for 10 years or more on 6 month visas.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2018 8:10 am how do u get the room for $80/month?
