Is CambodiaDaily.com blocked on certain ISPs in Cambodia?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I won't confirm nor deny. Maybe if this thread went bye-byes it would be for the best?

Companies act pretty swiftly now the telecom law is in effect.

The penalties for not following orders are crazy, they can range from suspension / revoking of license to jail time for management teams (jail terms in same cases are longer than you would get for murder in Cambodia), this forces companies to act. Although this has never been used yet I’m sure the government is waiting for a scapegoat to prove they are serious. They won’t go after the big ones immediately but all the smaller isps better make sure their ducks are in a row or I can see some trouble in their future.

Given that your thread has directly led to further censorship, yes.

But, but...

"Ezecom CEO Paul Blanche-Horgan yesterday said he had not seen the ministry’s letter. While government has made attempts over the years to block sites, he said, “we don’t do that”.

“We have never blocked any sites,” he said in an email."

I thought we had already determined that blocking is not censorship? I think you would need a lot of paper to list all the websites blocked by the British government. pretty much anything to do with euthanasia, survivalist material and nuclear bomb making instructions, which is totally unfair as guys with strange haircuts in a horrible dictatorship lie North korea are allowed to make atomic bombs in their gardens so why can't good honest English people with weird haircuts.
