Upgrade Complete! (And new advertising information.)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Upgrade Complete! (And new advertising information.)

Post by OrangeDragon »

I'm really surprised, but according to this it seems we've already propagated our new address in most places. That means all of you are now using the newer server. With a new server, comes new costs, so our wave of free advertising will be coming to an end (as all good things must). We have special arrangements with some individuals for reciprocal links and banner ads, so if you're one of those don't worry... we haven't forgotten. The others will be receiving emails to notify them of the changes and with some special "early adopter" discount offers... so if you're already an advertiser be on the lookout, our way of saying thank you for giving us a chance!

The new rates will be effective September 1st to give all of our current advertisers time to plan. And from now until then we will not be taking on any new free advertisements.

Our advertising rates are now posted for all to see, as well as an explanation of how the ranking system works:

Great ad structure and policy! Especially commend the possibility for advertisers to monitor the traffic on their ads.

Good job, OD, GM.

Digg3r, how is that bait and switch? Everybody and all advertisers knew that the ad space would be free for a limited time only.

Yeah, we notified all of them that we would be running ads free for a while, but only while we built up the member base/etc. I'd say we reached that point. We even had people contacting us WANTING to buy ad space and told them "nah... we're doing it for free right now just send us your ad."
